What I need to know to build an e-commerce business?

Previous post I've shared why I'm moving to e-commerce instead of doing affiliate marketing.

Today, let's talk about what are the things you'll need to know when building your e-commerce business.

What to consider when starting to build my e-commerce empire?

Alright, I think most of the newbie will ask this question. Why? Because we need to know up front what we're dealing with.

Based on my experience (not so long after all), you need to know why you're doing this.

It's all comes back to mindset and reason driven attitude that will make you take massive action.

If you can find your "why", you will be able to take continuous actions to make this new business successful. At least that works for me.

So you need to ask yourself, why you're starting this business? For what reason you want to get involve in this? What kind of lifestyle that you want? What do you want from this new established business? Will you willing to spend more time on this new business? Why you want to get into this business but not others? etc...

Another good way to find your true why is to use the method called: 7-level deep why (this is one of the method taught in Dean Graziozi's book "Millionaire Success Habits". How you can do that? Get a trusted partner and let them ask you why for 7 level deep. Each answer will led to another deeper why question, until you reached the 7th answer. That's your main "why". In this exercise, you may become emotional, and you must be honest to your answer and deep down you'll be able to find your true answer.

So enough for the mindset part of it. Let's go to the real consideration of e-commerce business.

Start up capital

I think this is the most important question that you may eagerly want to know. It's the first thing most people will ask and consider when heading to a new business.

To be frank, it's not that expensive. But it won't be cheap as well for normal 9-5 job employees, which have other commitments.

First thing need to have is the domain name. Not a must, but for long term business and branding, it's worth the investment. You can get a domain name easily within ~$10 from Namecheap or GoDaddy.

Second thing would be the e-commerce platform. Well, this is pretty subjective on your selection. It can be pretty expensive in long run, but for start up, you can go for any platforms. Among them are Shopify, Magento, WordPress with WooCommerce, Ecommstore, etc. For me I would just start with Shopify because it's just simpler to configure and payment gateway is taken care of. Once you set it up, you can just kick start your store and you will be ready to receive orders. For long term, Shopify may become expensive. Alternatively, if you're good at customizing your own website, Magento or WordPress pair with WooCommerce may be a better choice since there isn't any recurring fee. But you'll have to subscribe to your own hosting in this case. Minimum startup cost using Shopify would be ~$29.

Third thing to consider is whether you're willing to spend your time on building this e-commerce empire. Yes, time is also part of the consideration. When you're in e-commerce business, anytime there'll be an order coming in and you'll have to fulfill the order. So you need to be prepared to allocate your time to your customers. Also, you will need to spend your time doing the research to find suitable products to suitable customer.

Forth thing would be your advertising cost. We're talking about paid advertising here since we want to get the faster result possible. Or else you'll be in trouble paying ecommerce platform but no sales. You can do the conventional way of SEO or free traffic, but it will take time. For paid ads, you can engage to Google Adwords or Facebook Ads. You'll have to be prepared to spend some money here because it's all about testing and see which works. There's no one method wins all kinda thing. So be prepared to lose some money while testing out until you get the winning ads. Nevertheless, it should based on your budget. Roughly prepare around ~$200 will do.

Niche

This is important in building reputation and brand. It's easier to established a niche site than a general store. That way you can save your time of research and eventually you will be the expert on that specific niche.

So focus on particular niche and do all the research that you need. Find the correct audience to target and feed them with great products. You'll get the payback later on.

Also, if possible, build your brand from the start. Get high quality products and sell to passionate customers. They'll love it for what you did.

Payment Gateway

This is the most important thing in order to get sales. Without this, you'll not be able to get any money from your customers.

There're lots of payment gateway that you can use. Among the popular one would be Paypal or Payoneer. If you're not US citizen, using only Paypal will do as well.

Make sure you understand the payment charges for each of the transactions and factor in so that you won't be losing money for every sales. If possible, use the one with lower charges to maximize profit.

Products to sell

This can be easy to tell. All you have to do (since you've selected a niche) is to source a quality product. A product can be sourced from a wholesaler, or you can make your own craft and put in for sale. It's important to note that understanding your audience needs is crucial in selecting which products to sell.

My rule of thumb is to get quality products. I'm getting from wholesaler. So I would check their years of doing business, how many orders they've fulfilled, how many feedback they've received, how others think about the product, what's the feedback from related products, how soon they can help to ship, how's the packaging, etc. These questions are all relevant in order to make sure the product is good and it will help in building good reputation to your store.

Pricing

For initial start up, my strategy is to earn lesser, roughly only 10% of selling price. I would like to get more visitors to recognize my store first. Then later on I'll promote a higher price item to gain higher profit margin.

Pricing is really a very tricky thing. So you must have a sense of judgement as in if I put that price, will people buy it. So it's depends on experience and how you think the product worth. You can survey around shopping mart and check out the normal price of the item. Then set a baseline for your product.

Of course, doing business means you need to earn something. Thus, don't depends on survey only, Do the math yourself and check how much you can actually put for pricing. You'll need to consider the cost involved.

In my case, I'll consider the below:
  • Shopify monthly fee = ~$1 per day
  • Shopify transaction fee = 2% each transaction
  • Paypal trasaction fee = 4.4% of money received + $0.30
  • Product cost = depends on product
So your profit margin will be:

Profit = Selling price - [ 2% x selling price ] - [ 4.4% x selling price ] - $0.30 - [ product cost ]
Profit = Selling price x 0.936 - $0.30 - product cost

So if you want 40% profit margin, then your selling price will be:

Selling price = [ product cost + $0.30 ] / 0.536

That's how I set my product's selling price.

After sale service

As an e-commerce business owner, after sale service is very important. Especially if you need to handle goods return and also money back guarantee. For US based purchase, normally we should give a 30 days money back guarantee. It's the norm there to have such to make sure they received what they paid for.

So you may consider to use some software or application to help you in automate the process. Or just hire someone to look after after sale service once your business grows to hundred orders per day.

Work with your supplier on the return policy or replacement. Normally they're willing to help on this matter. If your item is low cost, you can just ship the customer another one FOC just to please them.

For long term business, we usually focus on making sure our customer receive the goods on time and in good condition. We want them to become our return customer so that your business will grow. If you're good in email marketing, get them sign up your email list. Promptly send promotional emails to them and convert them to become your return customers.

Also, by building email list, you're having the opportunity to promote your brand and get even more exposure to outside world. You'll also get to grab back potential customer from abandoned cart.

Scaling Up

When you have lots of orders like hundreds per day, you'll need to start thinking to grow your team. It's just impossible to handle everything your own. You'll need assistant. You'll need someone handle your order and fulfill them. You'll need someone to take care of customer service to answer questions. You'll need someone to handle your ads. All that needs time.

So in order to grow even bigger, you'll have no choice but to outsource. You'll have to decide to shred a little money from your profit margin to hire someone to take care some little things for you. Doing this initially will not be comfortable I know. But have a team to help you will be your greatest choice when growing your business.

Just pay some money and get rid of headache. And earn some time for other tasks.

Final words

I hope the information above is enough for you to have a glimpse of what you're getting into when doing ecommerce business. Certainly in any business as well, you'll have lots of concerns and consideration before making the decision. I'm already started up my e-commerce business. So maybe now is your turn. Why am I moving to e-commerce?

It's been weeks since I write a blog post here.

Why?

Not because I'm not doing internet marketing.

Or I'm quit doing internet marketing.

Instead, I'm working on moving my internet marketing focus to e-commerce instead, which takes up a lot of my time.

Isn't affiliate marketing is easy to do?

Yes and no.

Yes - easy to start up. No product creation. Setup a website or not, you can still do affiliate marketing.

No - it's becoming more competitive than before. Harder to rank you page. Need to depend highly on social sites to get free traffic.

So what are you doing right now?

I'm actually setup a brand new e-commerce store last month and officially running the store on 18-April 2017.

I've signed up an e-commerce course back in 3-Apr 2017. And I've learnt all the setup, research and technique in 2 weeks.

Then, I opened the store for business.

I got my first sale on 19-April !

And to-date, I've manage to generate ~$1.3k sales in one month.

Pretty amazing.

So why e-commerce?

The reason I get into the e-commerce business, probably due to the fact that you get to receive the money from customer first.

For affiliate marketing, you only got your commission after the refund period ended, which normally is around 30 days. (unless you already get 500 sales in JVZoo).

Which means, you have to come up with the money upfront but not really sure if you can get sales.

This all depends on the vendor's sales funnel and sales page, which you can't control.

E-commerce on the other hand, I get to setup my own store, get to select the products that is good and place it for sale.

Product research and target group research in this case is very important to gauge the success. But it's pretty much able to predict if you can get sales.

Comparing this two, I've decided to move on to work in e-commerce space, which is much easier and faster to work on.

How we can build our own store?

The platform that I use is Shopify.

It's a pre-made platform that helps you build your store with less effort and it helps you handle the payment gateway. This solves a lot of the problem on website customization, and save lots of time.

Then, I search for reliable supplier online, and also do product research and audience targeting.

Once the information is obtained, I'll talk to supplier to do dropshipping.

Then, I'll put up the product onto my Shopify store and start selling to the relevant target group through FB ads.

What is dropshipping and why?

Dropshipping is a concept where you receive order from your customer, and you place the order to your supplier, and your supplier will fulfill the order by sending the goods directly to your customer.

Why doing dropshipping?

Simple. You don't need to keep inventory. And you become a middle man between your customer and supplier.

And, you get to receive money from customer first. Only place the order later.

It's different than conventional way, where you buy goods from your supplier in bulk, then only sell it out later. This way you will need to buy from your supplier, which involves higher capital. Plus stock keeping area will be needed as well.

Why customer will choose us instead of supplier?

Good question.

Supplier will not normally know how to advertise. Plus if they were to promote every single product from their supply chain, they will become broke in no time.

Thus, we as a middleman, we spot the winning product, help them promote, earn the margin.

Customer on the other hand, they're not always know every single web store in the world. So by ethically showing to the potential customer the correct product, they will purchase. And they may have been looking for the right product for ages!

We don't really need to worry on that matter.

GetResponse Valentine's Day Special Discount

GetResponse Valentine Day Special Discount

As of this print, the offer up to 40% discount is still valid. There's still 600+ accounts up for grab right now.

GetResponse is an email marketing tool that you can use to collect leads and run email marketing campaign. It's widely used by internet marketers and it's very useful to help you grow your business. Not only you can increase engagement with your list, you can inform them about latest updates on you business.

Currently, GetResponse is doing a discount offer in conjunction with Valentine's Day. In my opinion, it's a good deal to grab. Seldom you will actually see email marketing tool gives you offer on their packages. Compared to Aweber, GetResponse is way cheaper even comparing the original price per month.

At a glimpse, you will see that GetResponse is actually giving a 15% discount straight if you only subscribe to pay monthly. If you subscribe to pay yearly, you can get up to 30% discount. And if you have the budget and go for biyearly, you can get up to 40% discount. It's similar for all the different packages.

For beginner, it will be good to just go with the "Email" package with 1000 leads first. It's not too expensive and you can still work within the budget. Afterwards if you have more subscribers, then only you consider to upgrade your package. My advise if to clean up you list first before decide to upgrade to a higher package to stay within budget.

So if you're interested to subscribe to GetResponse, just click the special link below.

A simple tweak that I did for worry-free every year...

Well, the other day I was doing a quick audit on my website and I found something I want to do long time ago.

It’s not really a big deal. But not doing it worries me. So I decided to take a quick search and found the solution for it.

If you’ve been building websites, then you must know this small tweak. Which is in your footer note of your company’s copyright year to-date.

So what can be done so that every year I don’t need to worry about changing the copyright note and always up-to-date?

Here’s what I did.

I’ve put in below HTML/JavaScript note so that it will display exactly like I wanted it to be.

<p style="text-align: center;">Copyright &copy; 2015

<script>new Date().getFullYear()>2015&&document.write("-"+new Date().getFullYear());</script>

<a href="http://kphuah.com/"> kphuah.com</a></p>

So these codes can be inserted into your theme plugin, page builder, or anywhere in your website or blog.

If you want to insert into “Twenty Sixteen” theme, just follow below steps.

In your Wordpress admin area >> Appearace >> Editor >> Theme Footer

I hope this simple tweak makes your next year’s 1st January one item lesser to worry about. Cheers!

P/S: Here’s my suggested software to perform HTML code editing >>Sublime Text 2

What's a link wheel and how it looks like?

Today, let's talk about link building.

So why are we doing link building? This is so that we can get a higher appearance or relevancy on SERP (search engine result page). The more links from related niche website linked to your webpage, it means high likely your webpage is relevant to user's search.

If you're thinking of putting all the backlinks from various website onto a single main website, then think again. Yes, it may boost your ranking for a while, but sooner or later it will fade out. Why? Because it's not natural, and search engine will notice that and de-rank your page.

And there's this method that actually works well for link building purpose and appear to be more natural. This method is called link wheel. Below is how the link wheel looks like.

You can see you have a main website (your page that you monetize) in the middle, and there's various niche related websites which have backlinks to the main website. On top of that, the niche related websites (website X) will link to the next website X as well. So in this formation, it creates a link wheel.

Link wheel is particularly useful to create massive backlinks to rank your webpage in SERP. It basically mimic the natural link building way, and thus your main website will not be penalized. Not only you improve the relevancy, it helps create traffic flow back to your main website as well. Thus this method is widely used in SEO world.

Take a look below on how website X article looks like. They usually follow below format.

You can see that at the beginning of the article, we usually put the anchor text with link to main website. Then followed by the article itself. And at the end with another anchor text but link to next website X. This creates a good link juice back to your main website with anchor text and also appear natural link to another website. By this way, it will improve your overall ranking for the anchor text that you want to rank for.

I've tried some services in Fiverr and it works well for me. So far no website being penalized. I hope you can benefit from this method as well.

That's all for today. If you have any comment or feedback, kindly comment below.

How To Create A Product Fast?

How To Create A Product Fast?

This question always being asked by newbies because they don't have the experience in being a vendor. Well, it's actually down to a few of the elements. To be honest, everyone can become a product creator. It's just whether you want to do it or not. The most important thing is you need to know what's the product going to be like.

In this digital world, there's something called digital publishing. So the product that we're talking about is actually "digital". These type of product is like ebook, training course, cheat sheet, video training, etc. So the good news is, it can be delivered all around the world through internet.

So here's the steps that you can take.

#1: Come out with an idea that solved someone's problem

- Do a brainstorming session with friends on problems, and come out with solution.
- Join an active forum in your niche and look for the problem they always talked about, come out with a solution.
- As long as you can come out with a solution to someone's problem, this product sells. It can be in any niche. Someone might be looking for solution to solve a water leaking problem, and if you have an immediate ebook guide or know-how video, the person will thank you.

#2: Produce the product

- You need to make a choice whether it's a reading material or video.
- For reading material, you'll have to create the ebook or one-page pdf with step-by-step to solve the problem.
- For video, just use your normal handphone to take the video. Make a step-by-step video, maybe a series. If you know how to edit is even better.
- Alternatively, you can hire someone to make the product for you. But my recommendation is to produce yourself. It's not that hard.

#3: Place it in a marketplace and start selling!

- It's simple. Just engage in any of the digital publishing marketplace and publish your product on that platform. The easiest would be either Warriorplus, Clickbank or JVZoo. These platforms also have a lot of active affiliates to help you promote the product as well.

That's it! Just 3 steps. Let me know if you find this useful. Thanks.

Sharing Other People's Content And Get LEADS?

Sharing Other People's Content And Get LEADS?

Okay, this sounds ridiculous. How you can actually did that while you don't actually own that piece of content or website? It's like you're legally hacking people's website or content and just use it as your own benefit. Indeed, this kinda software really exist.

So what's this "amazing" product that can actually help you collect leads by only sharing viral content and leverage other people's authority? This product called Elementio.

Elementio is released by Karthik Ramani and his team recently. Basically what the application or software do, is to allow you to insert marketing elements into someone's website or content. It can be a pop up, banner, poll, survey or any clickable elements.

The purpose of the tool is actually to help marketers get leads or engagement even though they don't have list or great content. Even though you're not collecting leads, a simple call-to-action button may just helped you to sell your offers and gain more sales, on other's website.

In my opinion, it's totally for newbies to start collect leads and make money through email marketing. The tool is easy to use and you can leverage famous blog post authority and for the benefit for your own.

How would you like to share content and get leads at the same time? Let me know what's your thought?

Time Vs Money

Time and money are both a very unique entity. Both are easy to spend, and we are unknowingly burning them like nobody business.

Time and money both have a very special relationship together. They are both unknowingly related to each other. Ever heard people saying: "I have the time, but I don't have the money" or "I have the money, but I don't have the time". We unconsciously link both entity together whether you realize or not.

From the above example, we can see that both time and money is actually dependent on each other. Or we can said that both are interchangeable.

You can actually spend more on the other in order to save another.

In the internet marketing world, we always hear people saying go out source if you don't know the particular item, for example SEO. This is indeed true, because is not possible for us to know every single thing.

So, you will tend to spend more money for a SEO service in order to save your time, so that you can get more campaigns done.

Or you can choose to spend more time to learn how to do SEO yourself, and save some money out of your pocket.

You see, both are actually interchangeable.

When you are trying to venture into the internet marketing world and you want to try to make money from this online thingy, you need to realize that this is a number game.

You either have to have the capital to play the game, or you need to have the time to spend to learn up the related knowledge.

Those whining folks out there will not know how much needed to sow in order to become successful in the future. The successful ones already been through and learnt the lesson. Time or money, you need to choose one.

For me, I've traded the knowledge with both time and money. There is no rule on how to balance the both entity. But moderation and not to overburden is the key I would say.

If you want to be successful, invest the money and also the time. Find a mentor that can help you by leveraging their knowledge. By that way, you may save time and also some money.

Time vs Money. If you don't have all the money in the world, how have you been spending you time if time is the only asset you have?

Convertri campaign - earnings overview

Convertri has been launched on 26th July 2016 and the life time access has been closed. If you are not sure what is Convertri, check out my previous post. Simply put, Convertri is a funnel builder that is similar to ClickFunnels.

So why I choose this product to promote? Well, for a simple reason. Because this is a mid-ticket product and the price of the product is $297 with 50% commission during launch period. Also, this product will become ever-green later on after the launch and anyone who buy through my affiliate link I get to earn commission as well. And since it will become competition to ClickFunnels, this would be a great product no doubt.

My strategy would be to do 3 websites and try to rank it up to search engine. After applying the Fiverr and SourceMarket gigs, I'm able to rank on 1st page of Google just 1 week before Convertri launch. Then I got access to the review copy of Convertri, and I've made demonstration videos to direct traffic back to my websites. All in all I'm trying a few methods to try to get traffic to my websites.

The 3 websites are:
http://convertrireviewbonus.review
http://convertriprice.review
http://convertribonus.review

Even though in the end I'm not earning a lot, but with 1 single sale I've already cover all my cost.

Commission from Convertri sale = $148.50
Fiverr = $31.50
SourceMarket = $42.00
Earning = $148.50 - $31.50 - $42.00 = $75.00

Not a bad day huh? That's all I wanted to share. Catch up on the next post.
Cheers!

Masters of Success - Cayden Chang - Value Investing

Masters of Success - is a conference held on Kuala Lumpur from 15-17 July 2016. It was a whole day event and various speakers are present to share their knowledge with the audiences. I've a chance to join the conference for 2 days, which is on 16-17 July 2016. So let me share with you what the speakers shared and also what I've learnt throughout the session.

Let me give you a little bit of background of the speaker:
Cayden Chang - Founder of Mind Kinesis Value Investing Academy & Professional Value Investing Trainer, and runs the FIRST and ONLY Value Investing Programme that is ENDORSED and RECOMMENDED by Mary Buffett, the Internationally Acclaimed Author and Speaker of how Billionaire Warren Buffett invests.

Value Investing is exactly what Cayden used to turn his life around. Since major loss of savings, he decided to not invest based on speculation. The method he started using back then to generate over a million dollars in net worth is called Value Investing. What really helped him most was generating passive income. Once you have the feeling that you can support yourself and family passively, a giant burden gets lifted off your shoulders. It's like you no longer have to tie yourself to things that don't make you happy. You can "break free" from the boring things that you think you have to do to earn an income.

During Cayden's session, he shared with us the secret about Warren Buffett's investing strategies that he uses to make millions of dollars passively using only 15 mins a day, how to distinguish which stocks are on sales using a proven technique (As easy as ABC) that identifies undervalued stocks that are worth more than what they appear to the public, how anyone can evaluate companies like a professional using a simplified technique which only requires you 10 mins, how anyone can receive a quarterly cheque from your stocks on top of your capital appreciation consistently, and last but not least to discover the simple technique of how you can generate additional income from your stocks by renting it out for a fixed amount of time.

So, what is the most important investment in your life? Well, that is the LESSON#1: Invest in ourself. In this context, we are talking about knowledge. We should be investing into getting the knowledge in order to achieve a better future for our life. So there are a few steps that Cayden is suggesting.

  1. Gain the knowledge - by all means get as much knowledge as possible on the topic of your interest, be it investing, trading, cooking, teaching, sewing, or any niche that you prefer.
  2. Accumulate enough capital or cash - every business or investment start with some amount of capital, there is no argument about this, there is no free lunch out there.
  3. Willing to spend the time - all types of investment or business will need the willingness to spend the time on it. It can be spending time to learn, cultivate, practice, or mastering a skill - all that need time.
  4. Put the knowledge into action - this is a typical step that is most important, result come from the actions that you took. Don't become NATO (no action talk only).

Then, there is the LESSON#2: Learn from mentors. Why? Because they already been there and done it. Don't waste the time and try yourself. Learn from someone that is already been through the process and then we can learn faster. I understand we all have the ego to want to be expert saying we learn ourselves and show how superior we are to others. But let's faced it, how fast you can learn from mistakes? Do you have the time and money to spend on to fail multiple times before you get the right recipe? And the mentor in this case, we have to choose those that still working on that particular topic or niche. Not those outdated professor that never been through the "real" case study.

So after the 2 lessons, Cayden shared more golden nuggets.

He asked us to focus on these 4 items in any investment or business.
  1. Proven System
  2. Easy
  3. Minimal Time
  4. Little Capital

This will make sure you lower your risk and also help you to achieve your goal faster.

Cayden talked about value investing already exists long time ago. The book called "The Intelligent Investor" by Benjamin Graham - we call him the "father of value investing" already talked about value investing in the 20s. He recommend we read the book and get to essence from it.

Next, Cayden mentioned about passive income. What are sources of income that is consider passive? Well, there are a few.

  1. Capital appreciation stocks
  2. Dividends
  3. Selling options (cash flow options strategy)

Last but not least, he introduced the "ABC" system.

A - Assess --> meaning find a good company to invest
B - Buy --> using a VIA calculator to make sure we buy at lowest price (cheap)
C - Cash --> cash flow options strategy

In summary, Cayden as the only value investing trainer in Asia, he showed to us the important of value investment. Like how other guru or expert in the industry, they never forget about value investing. I've understand the importance of value investment on ourself and having the correct mindset for achieving financial freedom. There is no one system that you don't need to put effort in order to achieve financial goal, and there is no free lunch. All that are traded by your investment in knowledge, time and effort. And if you put that into actions, you will eventually on the right path to achieve your financial goal and success. It may take you another 1 month, 1 year, 5 years, or 10 years. But all the effort should be persistent and it will never become a waste if you are investing into yourself.

A great talk by Cayden indeed. Chat soon, bye.

Masters of Success - Eric Ho - Super Power Cycle

Masters of Success - is a conference held on Kuala Lumpur from 15-17 July 2016. It was a whole day event and various speakers are present to share their knowledge with the audiences. I've a chance to join the conference for 2 days, which is on 16-17 July 2016. So let me share with you what the speakers shared and also what I've learnt throughout the session.

Let me give you a little bit of background of the speaker:
Eric Ho - is a UK's famous entrepreneur, global franchise owner & peak performance specialist. At a surprisingly young age, Eric is the proud owner and Founder of YoYo Group with businesses spanning from the largest licensed Steel & Tyre export company in the UK, to his non-profit organization (YoYo Mission) which provides a loving home and education for 243 wonderful kids in Kenya, Africa. Basically, he can get into any business industry.

Eric's quote throughout the whole presentation is surrounded by "Master the form, and flow with the formless". This is somewhat a little bit spiritual, but rather a useful rhyme. To him, we must master the form (the way to earn money), and then only you can follow your heart goes (help unfortunate others).

Another great quote that he talked about is "What's in sub-conscious mind, was once in the conscious mind". Sometimes when we are doing something not knowingly, was actually what we thought about it last time. Ever remember that you not knowingly driving home without the need to think of every single steps taught by your driving instructor last time? Yea... You did it last time, and you get used to it, and it become your habits, your sub-conscious. So we must somehow imagine or make your actions to become habits, then only you will do things sub-consciously towards success.

His main presentation is about the "Super Power Cycle".

This is the key cycle for Eric's success. He mentioned, we first must have goal, believe yourself you can do it, reserve some level of fear (to perform better), take massive action, take note of the process, and then get results. When you successfully reached you goal, you will have more power (control), then you can grow your business. Later one you will feel the need to contribute back to the community, being a well-being, and finding the purpose of life, which eventually drive you to achieve another goal. This whole cycle is the Super Power Cycle taught by Eric Ho during his presentation.

Eric also mentioned the 2 key elements for a successful business (he has proven to be able to venture into different field of businesses).

  1. Value - you must be able to give value to the prospects, which is to help them solve problems or provide solutions for them. The bigger the problem, the bigger the $ chunk.
  2. Sales - you must love sales and learn how to sell. Everyone know how to sell, just that you don't remember how to sell. (it's like how you impress your girl friend with a bunch of goodies about yourself, that's selling).

When you are stressed out, you can just live in the moment. Because problem is not in the moment. It is in the past and in the future. Past: what you've done that makes you worry. Future: what's going to happen after I do this. So in present, there should not have problems.

True enough, after the session, I feel like everything in the world happen for a reason. In order to make full use of current life, let's do something different. Make a difference to other's life. You'll be able to find the meaning of life.

Until next post. Bye.

Masters of Success - Daniel Loh - 3 key characteristics of performing business

Masters of Success - is a conference held on Kuala Lumpur from 15-17 July 2016. It was a whole day event and various speakers are present to share their knowledge with the audiences. I've a chance to join the conference for 2 days, which is on 16-17 July 2016. So let me share with you what the speakers shared and also what I've learnt throughout the session.

Let me give you a little bit of background of the speaker:
Daniel Loh, who is an established investment coach, analyst and keynote speaker who specializes in equities and derivatives trading. He is a regular guest at investment forums and you may also have heard/or seen him appear on national television and radio interviews to share his views on the latest trends and predictions on the financial markets. Daniel also writes for the biggest financial newspaper in Malaysia and trains for the Securities Investors Association (SIAS) of Singapore. With over 15 years of proven successful record and experience under his belt, Daniel is highly regarded in the investment community as one of the leading teachers and spokesperson of Asia's Top Investment Guru, Hu Li Yang.

So what I've learnt from he's presentation is the 3 characteristics of a performing business.

  1. Probability (chance of winning) - this must be high around > 65% in order for you to be confident in the business or trading.
  2. Passive Income (automation) - the business must be able to help you create a passive income stream where you don't need to spend a lot of time, like an automation system.
  3. Protection (protect portfolio) - the business must have some kind of protection portfolio, like diversify investment or there is an insurance that you can buy to protect you.

Daniel also showed his expertise in trading by introducing to us why most of the time we will lose in stock market. And the best solution is to sell options. This is one of the method that Warren Buffet used to generate his billion dollars empire.

There are 2 steps to make in order to make profit from selling options.
  1. Sell a put option in 1 month time expiry
  2. Sell a put option less than the stock price
So there's how Daniel made his dollar.

That's all I want to share right now from Daniel's presentation. Chat soon!
